This is pasted from what I just wrote on my profile bio, but I would also like to add that not only do I really appreciate the VG server I've played on, but I have found the membership to be skilled and mature seeming, with no BS trash talk. Just good gaming. I'm really not sure if I'm a good enough player for a clan but I do tend to rise to the top whenever I play and I take pride in that. I play tactics and class based on the needs of the team and conditions on the server at that specific time. Thanks for the consideration.

--Hello, I'm a 43 year old father of three boys. I've been a PC gamer since PC gaming became a thing back when it was Amiga, Commodore 64, etc. Before then I was an arcade rat stacking quarters to secure my place in line for Defender, Joust, and many other classic favorites.

My friends and I would do LAN parties in the early/mid '90s and do deathmatch Doom, and then Quake when it came along. This is when I started building gaming rigs all decked out with 32 MB of RAM and voodoo 3dfx add-on video cards. Good times. Team Fortress came along as a Quake- (or was it Half Life? Can't remember..) mod, and I shredded under the name General Specific...

Marriage and children encroached upon my gaming life and computers became tools for a number of years as I idly played less action oriented games like the Fallout series, some Half Life, Diablo...Basically whatever my weak PC could handle.

Fast forward to my 12 year old son wanting Assassins Creed Unity and me buying it for him and trying to load it up onto my PC -Not happening, not even close to minimum requirements.

I built a new box that will run anything fast and rediscovered Team Fortress, now TF2 and I love it more than ever. You'll find me on the VG/Turbine 24/7 server pretty much every night after work.​

Hello, I just wanted to say a few words to let you know a few things. We try to stray as you said around trash talking and trouble makers from letting others enjoy the game for what it's meant for. We are pretty much a very mature community. Now as you can see the underline word community as we're not a clan so to say and stand out more as a community then anything. I speak for myself, but i'm sure mostly everyone here could agree that we find this community as a family based society that just so happens to revolve around gaming. As I can tell right off the bat that you're a pretty well rounded person so i'm sure you'd fit right into this community without a problem. No need to change your username on the forums. Changing your Steam name will not affect how gameME tracks your stats, but you'll see the changed name in your badge once you connect to the server.

 

You can change your forum name if you want but i see nothing wrong with it. When you change your name on steam it makes no difference on gameme stats which use your steam id.
