Any ideas on how to settle down a flu? I have been taking the prescribed medication but it just isn't doing enough to fight it back... Any advice/tips for recovering???

    Inventory:

    Lots of water and sleep.

I don't take any medication ever, we have an immune system for a reason :p.

Usually when I get the flu I take all natural echinacea and garlic pills. If you're having trouble sleeping you can always take all natural elderberry syrup too, it'll knock you out. Most all of this can be found at whole foods or sprouts.

Yup I agree with Woody. I was diagnosed with a ton of stomach issues and they proscribed me over 5 different medications. You know how many of those I actually take? ZERO! Medicine isn't good for your liver or stomach it'll make things worse at least it makes sense to me. I never been a medication person. I am old school and just deal with the pain and sickness or go the natural route and find home remedies. For instance I take Milk Thistle once a day for my liver, B-12 for my nerves, and if my stomach gets really bent out of shape i usually drink about a gallon of Aloe Juice Pure which soothes the throat plus cools the acid down. I also drink about 1 can of prune juice a week to keep my stomach of a steady basis of going to the restroom so I don't get bound up cause of my IBS.

Anyways, to get back on track far as the flu goes. I always use to just drink a ton of water or cranberry juice. (DON'T by any means drink Gatorade as it will just dehydrate you more) a lot of people don't know that. Rub Vix on your chest and just rest a ton. Let your body fight it off!
