I have no comment until I actually see them in play and see how they run.

Definitely going to be getting the steam controller myself, I'll let you all know what it is like in October!

I'm with Gavlan, I'm more interested in the controller. My PC is pretty stout so I have no need for another box- yet.

I think the OS itself is pretty cool, especially if you are familiar with having multiple partitions on your HDD/SSD what have you. I don't think that buying a "Steam Machine" is entirely necessary; I am not certain but I believe they said somewhere along the line they will have the option of just getting the OS. There would be no real positives to buying a full Steam Machine when you have a functioning PC already in your hands IMO.

Side note: Pre-ordered the Steam Controller just yesterday!

Now don't quote me on this for sure, but I heard the OS for computers is going to be a huge steam update when the system finally gets released. So I believe if you have a computer the OS is going to be free of , but you can or maybe even have to get a controller to use it.

Hm. Seems like Valve is treading on very thin ice here, not as thin as that pay-for-mods idea, but these steam machines seem like quite a risk
